Overview

This Acceptable Use Policy is part of our Terms of Service and applies to everyone who uses Sync. It exists to keep the Service safe, reliable and lawful for every organization that depends on it.

You may not use Sync to

  • Break the law — including fraud, money laundering, tax evasion, or generating invoices, payroll records or financial documents that misrepresent a real transaction.
  • Store or process data you don't have the right to hold, including personal data about people who haven't consented to it where consent is legally required.
  • Attempt to access another organization's data, or probe, scan or test the Service's isolation and security controls without our written permission.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where the law gives you an explicit right to do so.
  • Resell, sublicense or provide access to the Service to a third party as if it were your own product, without our agreement.
  • Upload malware, or use the Service's automated notifications or email features to send spam, phishing attempts, or harassment.
  • Interfere with or place undue load on the Service — including automated scraping or API use beyond what's reasonable for your own organization's operation of the product.
  • Impersonate another person or organization, or misrepresent your affiliation with one.

Your responsibility for compliance

If you use Sync's payroll, tax or HR modules, you're responsible for complying with the employment, tax and data protection laws that apply to your business and the people you employ. Sync provides tools to help; it doesn't replace your own legal and compliance obligations.

Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations of this Policy and take action ranging from a warning to suspending or terminating an account, depending on severity. We'll generally try to give you notice and a chance to fix an issue first, except where the violation poses an immediate risk to the Service or other organizations.
